First Day of School

So, it has officially began. I have now started my second year as a teacher.

Meet my new class:

This year I will be teaching combined 3rd and 5th grade. Although, I know it will be a lot of work I am up for the challenge.

Mrs. B's 1st and 2nd graders

Following my jungle theme for the year we started off the day by making a new decoration for our classroom door.

I am so very thankful for this lady...
What a huge help she is to me daily.  How lucky am I that I get to work with one my best friends...

One of the ladies at church offered to make my class this Jungle cake for the first day back to school.  It turned out so cute.

Looking forward to great year with my rambunctious class....

Back to School Preparation

I can hardly believe that in a little over a week I will be starting my second year at Ottawa County Christian Academy.

The past two week have been spent in back to school preparation.  This year we embarked on the task of painting our classrooms.  And if I may say so myself the classrooms look spectacular!

After finishing Shauna's room we proceeded down the hall to my new classroom.  In the last week we took on 4 new students.  My class is now to large to fir in my previous room so I was able to upgrade to a larger room.

This year with my 3rd and 5th grade students I am having a jungle theme.

I'm anxious to begin yet another school year....

VBS: The Mighty God

This past week I was able to participate in my very first VBS.  I thoroughly enjoyed jumping in and being a part of this crazy busy week.  By the end of the week I was completely exhausted.  All week I would leave a couple hours early to pick up kids for an exciting evening of VBS.
I had the privilege of teaching the 10- 11 year olds.  All week long we studied the life of Moses. As we traveled through his life I was able to teach my students very important  lessons including: God loves us, God calls us, God guides us, God saves us, and God cares for us.
All the hard work and preparation paid off when I was personally able to lead two little girls to Christ this week.  What a blessing to see God working in the hearts of children and showing them their need for a Savior.
Truly we do serve a Mighty God.

Every evening we ended the "knight" in a short skit..

On the last day of VBS we all dressed up in our Medieval clothing.

And as always, I thoroughly enjoy working on the van routes with these guys.  Our hard work definitely paid off this last week.  We had 51 children come to VBS from our area.
